Consultation and Therapy
Dr. Salk offers therapeutic support via tele-therapy, telephone and in person meetings. She treats individuals and couples. Dr. Salk treats issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, identity, grief and trauma. Pia believes each person is the expert on themselves. She sees her role as a collaborative one in which she assists clients to find solutions uniquely suited to their own needs and worldview.
Companion Animal Bereavement and Compassion Fatigue
Dr. Pia’s Worldview includes the importance of other species in our individual lives, our families and society overall. She offers assistance with companion animal bereavement, adoption, emotional issues related to a plant-based diet and compassion fatigue resulting from work in such fields as animal welfare and social justice advocacy.
Emotional Support Animals and
Animal-Assisted Therapy
Dr. Pia believes that companion animals are important members of the family. She can assist in companion animal retention efforts and can certify Emotional Support Animals (ESA). She often includes her own rescued animal companions and those of her clients in therapy sessions with individuals, couples and families. Dr. Pia often credits these animals as “The real therapists.”
